Our summer sites are closed but will reopen April 15, 2012. You can call ahead and reserve your winter gear at our home location at 5223 Hwy 66 location!!! 715-341-7149 ask for Dino. No walk-ins. Some great places to take our gear and enjoy the winter season are located in town and throughout Central Wisconsin. The first location is the city "Wells" or the "Plover River Trail" which is the section groomed for CxC sking and is free to the public. A parking lot is located east of our winter rental location on Hwy 66. Most of the Green Circle is own by private land owners but you can hike or snowshoe 3/4 of the trail in winter but stay near the trail and observe the private land owners rites. This is free. Iverson Park offeres the family many great winter options from sledding, cxc sking, snowshoeing and has two toboggan runs. Call 715-346-1531. Jordan Park has a pond for ice fishing, Nature Center and nature trails for hiking and snowshoeing which is free but ungroomed. It is also along the snomobiling trail and offers parking. A major area for cxc sking is Standing Rocks County Park with over 500 acres of glacial trails and a minor downhill area great for the beginner snowboarder or downhill skier. Snowshoeing is allowed but not on the trails and a user fee is required. Call 715-346-1433. Not far from Standing Rocks is Hartman Creek State Park and boarders both Waupaca and Portage County. It offers cxc sking trails, snowshoe and many great ice fishing lakes. A state sticker is required. Other natural areas to winter recreate are the Dewey Marsh of over 6,000 acres owned by the county and DNR for hunting and snowmobiling. The Mead Marsh 33,000 acres owned by the DNR and 35 miles of hiking trails. Call 715-457-6771.
