*If helping with local conservation projects is your thing then check out the Golden Sands Resource Conservation website. Count Prairie Chickens, Celebrate Wisconsin Grasslands, visit the historic Hamerstrom Home or see wildlife in the Mead, Buena Vista, Sandhill and Olson Wildlife Areas.
Reserve your space to view "Prairie Chickens" locally at the Carl and Carol Flaig Farm located northwest of Rudolph 715-570-0782. Nature Treks will be offering shuttle for you early birds from March to May seasonally or until the booming season ends!
If you have young kids there are a few great places to visit. Our first is the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum located downtown, the Natural History Museum located in the UWSP Library, Portage County Libraries, UWSP-Schmeekle Reserve Visitor Center, Portage County Parks Jordan Nature Center and the many Porage County Historical sites. All offer special events seasonally and year round!
